According to the statistics released by World Tourism Organization, China will become the world’s largest inbound tourism market and the forth largest outbound tourism market by the year 2015, which indicated that as many as 100 million oversea tourists will visit China, while the number of domestic tourist will reach as high as 2.8 billion.

With china’s rapid economic growth and the influence of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2010 Shanghai Expo and 2010 Guangzhou Asia Games, China’s hotel and tourism industry will increase even much faster. In china, each year more than 500,000 domestic citizens would change from sightseeing the scenic-spots to spending their vocations in resort hotels or leisure and recreational destinations. That’s to say, spending holiday in a resort is gradually becoming an important part of the Chinese people’s lifestyle. Accordingly, resort hotel investment has become extremely popular in China.

However, the recent slowdown of international economy has great impacts on global tourism and hotel industry. How can hotel investors deal with capital restrain and economic slowdown and become successful in hotel investment? How can hotel investors get over the difficulty brought by inflation and economy crisis?

Based on the aforesaid trends and potential economic challenges which may have great impact on hotel investment, Asia Hotel Forum and Hong Kong Polytechnic University have previously co-organized an Advanced Course on Hotel Investment and Assets Management to provide constructive guidance for hotel investor “freshmen”. In order to further enhance success of resort hotel investment in China, Asia Hotel Forum will organize an International Hotel Investment Summit, to provide a platform for the  seasoned hoteliers and developers to share their ideas and successful experiences in hotel investment and planning, helping the industry achieve greater success in the future.
